Catherine Krikstan is a writer and gardener living in Silver Spring. She recently earned a Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland, where she spent a semester covering the Chesapeake Bay for the Capital News Service. After graduating, she spent a summer running her own small-scale farm and Community Supported Agriculture program on the Eastern Shore. In November, she began working for the Accokeek Foundation, where she promotes agricultural and environmental stewardship. She puts her green thumb to work on a 625-square-foot community garden plot.
